“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

He must be the first among:

-Persons
-Activities
-Days
-Books
-Institutions

“One always has time for that which one places first.”

It is said we have the tendency to place:
-Religion before the Savior
-Organizations before the Organism (The Church)
-Self before the Lord
-Material before the spiritual
-Body before the soul
-Time before eternity

Could I ask you to please turn in your Bible and read the 16 verses between Matthew 6:19-34?
Many, many people talk about living by the Sermon on the Mount of Matt. 5-7, but they have not really grasp the magnitude of this great teaching of Jesus. Everything is amplified as Jesus says, “ye have heard it was said” but “I say unto you”. Each time Jesus made this statement the contrast was so powerful that it causes us to reexamine our thought life as well as what we look upon.

Now, as we come to this passage before us, we continue to see the contrast of our treasures. If you read and reread these few verses and look for the contrast that the Holy Spirit has encompassed for us, one cannot but see that God truly draws a line between the places we deposit our treasures.

He begins by stating that our treasures can be laid up either in heaven or on earth.
He further states what will happen as to the place we put these treasures. Verse 20.
He also reminds us that the place we put the treasures will determine where our heart or affection lies. Verse 21.
Beginning with verse 25 the phrase “take not thought” is the first of six times He uses the word THOUGHT. Observe the six times:
“Take no thought” verse 25
“Taking thought verse 27
“Why take ye thought” verse 28
“Take no thought” verse 30
“No thought for tomorrow” verse 34
“Thoughts for the things” verse 34

Yes, my friend, God wants us to think about how we live our life on a daily basis in light of eternity. He is asking us to consider what and how we use our time, talent and treasures for Him.

Perhaps verse 33 is the text verse of these 16 verses, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” This is not old math or modern math, this is heavenly math…”added unto you.” How much time have we spent in our effort to learn God’s method of addition

Pastor travels to Marina, CA and preaches at the Central Coast Baptist Church for Pastor William Wallace.  He will be preaching Monday (8/15) and Tuesday (8/16)

On Wednesday night (8/17), he will be preaching locally at a tent meeting for Pastor Jason Brown in Lakeside at 7 pm.

He then travels to Long Beach, CA and preaches Thursday evening (8/18) for Pastor Dave Murphy at the Gethsemane Baptist Church at their men’s bar-b-que meeting

Then on Friday evening (8/19), Pastor will be speaking for Pastor Paul Chappell in Indian Wells, CA at their staff orientation.

Pastor is now with Bro. Chris Chaney in Washington DC and is preaching at the Lighthouse Baptist Church for Pastor Ricardo Payne.
