Dear Family Home Educator,

My wife and I welcome you to a wonderful website. We have eight children ranging from ages 23 to 5 with one grandchild and one on the way. We are constantly learning and continuing to look for edifying materials to grow and mature as parents. We believe you'll find a wealth of information inside this site as well as resources for more study and meditation.

As a pastor, I strongly believe in independent families where the parents have the final say for their children in everything! We, at our church, have developed and continue to pursue a philosophy of supporting the family. In addition to the usual classes and ministries, we have various helps for your family including an age integrated Family Sunday School class, a "Training Room" with a closed circuit TV of our services, an overflow room for families that also has a video/audio feed (for that difficult day a child may have), activities for the children where parents are welcomed and encourage to attend, musical instrument classes, and personal evangelism for the family. On top of all this (and more planned), we have our Lighthouse Home Educating Families (LHEF) ministry, which you can learn more about within this site.

As a pastor, let me encourage you to pray for your pastor as you teach him about your needs as a family in our church. Above all else, be patient with him as he learns and assimilates balanced attitudes into the congregation.

My wife and I are really enjoying seeing our family grow, mature, and now start their own families. Certainly in parenting there is some burden bearing, grief, and hardships along the way but these only work to further bond us together. We hope this web site helps to meet your needs as a family. P.S. My wife and I have long ago decided we will still be married after the children have grown and left our home. We still have dates together(married dating is the only kind we believe in) and have enclosed a recent picture taken at our old fashioned Sunday services.
