Security Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to provide for a safe environment for all our members and visitors while they are in scheduled services. This ministry attempts to take away distractions from members and visitors concerning personal safety and property protection so that attention can be devoted to worshipping the Lord during services.

The reason for a security ministry at Lighthouse Baptist Church is that the world, and specifically our community, has become increasingly more violent and subject to crimes against persons and properly. Churches across the nation have experienced crimes to which the average criminal today holds no conviction to exempt a church from any criminal goal or intention.

Watching on the Wall

Our ministry is made up of volunteer trained men who are scheduled one service time a month. These watchmen provide a visible and trained presence that’s been proven to deter and prevent crimes to persons and property. They are also ambassadors of the church, and provide directions and greet visitors and members while serving. This ministry also provides help to the Bus Ministry on Sunday mornings to ensure all bus children and riders are directed to class.

Security workers receive a free CD copy of the messages they miss while serving. Below is a list of our ministry shifts. Bus Security is a weekly ministry, and Church Service Security is a once-a-month shift.
