Dr. Holder has been a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and has served on staff as an Assistant to the Pastor for the past 7 years. He and his wife Dorothy (Dot) Holder have two children and two grandchildren.
Dr. Holder has served the Lord in full time Christian service for 57 years. At the age of nineteen, and still in Bible college, Dr. Holder was ordained and that same year, he assisted and pastored his own church. That opportunity to pastor lit a fire in the heart of Dr. Holder to become a church planter and a fill-in pastor for struggling churches in America. His desire was to recruit church planters to the Western United States, start new churches and strengthen struggling churches. Because of that desire, Dr. Holder and his wife were able to see twelve new churches started as well as see twelve smaller churches that were stuggling be built back up. Dr. Holder has served as a pastor for various churches in California, Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio for twenty-five years and then had served another twenty-five years as Western Representative for Faith Mission Board in church planting before coming on staff at the Lighthouse as an Associate Pastor. Because Dr. Holder was such an influential representative for the Baptist International Missions, Inc. he saw a number of annual Faith Promise Mission Conferences conducted over the western United States and he had the opporunity to travel and preach in most of our 50 states. He currently teaches in the Lighthouse Bible Institute and he and his wife minister to the men and women “50 and above” of the Lighthouse in ”The Golden Circle” Sunday School Class.
In his years of faithful Christian service, Dr. Holder has earned a Bacholor of Arts from Tennessee Temple University and was recognized as an outstanding alumni in 1979. He has also obtained a Master of Theology from Clarksville School of Theology, and a honorary Doctorite of Divinity from Citadel Baptist Theological Seminary.
